Office of Registrar Closed on Sept. 29 & 30

Due to the expected impacts from Hurricane Ian, the College of Charleston is canceling in-person instruction and closing Business operations for both Thursday, Sept. 29, and Friday, Sept. 30.
The Office will open on Monday, Oct. 3.

Thursday, August 25th is the last day to Add or Drop an Express I course.
Monday, August 29th is the last day to Add or Drop a Full Semester course.

Fall 2022 Registration Availibility

Registration for Fall 2022 is currently only available to students attending New Student Orientation.
Registration will open for all students on July 27 at 8 AM.

Dear Undergraduate Students:  The Office of the Registrar welcomes you to the Spring 2021 semester!  This post contains some helpful dates, deadlines, and information about the semester.

Academic Calendar:  Please be sure to take a few minutes to review the entire Spring 2021 Academic Calendar.   Here are some important highlights:

  • Drop/Add Deadline for Express I Classes: Wednesday, January 13th
  • Drop/Add Deadline for Full Semester Classes: Tuesday, January 19th
  • Withdrawal Deadline for Express I Classes: Wednesday, February 10th
  • Drop/Add Deadline for Express II Classes: Wednesday, March 10th
  • Withdrawal Deadline for Full Semester Classes: Monday, March 22nd
  • Withdrawal Deadline for Express II Classes: Monday, April 5th

Academic Catalogs:  Looking for the undergraduate or graduate academic catalog (academic regulations, course descriptions, department/program information, etc.)?  Visit the web page: https://registrar.cofc.edu/academic-catalog/index.php 

FERPA:  The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended, is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.  For more information, visit the webpage: https://registrar.cofc.edu/ferpa/index.php 

Full-time vs Part-time Status:  A minimum of 12.0 credit hours is considered full-time enrollment for undergraduate students. Be careful about dropping or withdrawing from courses which take your total enrollment hours below this minimum, as your financial aid and health insurance could be affected. 

Holds:  Registration holds will keep you from being able to drop, add or withdraw from classes in MyCharleston.  Only the department who placed the hold can remove it from your account.   For a list of hold types and contact information, please visit:go.cofc.edu/holds.

Transfer Students:  Take a few minutes to review the Transfer Resource Center web page for helpful information regarding transfer credits and getting involved as a transfer student.

The College will be closed on Monday, January 20, 2020 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Classes Resume Post Hurricane Dorian

Classes resume on Monday, September 9, 2019 for the main campus.  The North Campus resumes on Saturday, September 8, 2019.

August 27th is the last day to drop/add for full semester courses.  It is also the last day for students to submit a request for permission to audit a course.

You can check for any registration holds using the Academic Services tab in MyCharleston.  Look for the Registration Tools channel and click by clicking on the Registration Status link.  Only the department who placed the hold can remove it from your account.   If you have a hold and need to drop or withdraw from a class (by the appropriate deadline), please contact the Registrar’s Office for assistance BEFORE THE DEADLINE at registrar@cofc.edu! Requests after the deadline are not eligible for processing.

Important Summer Dates

The Office of the Registrar hopes you are having an enjoyable and productive summer so far!  Here are some important dates to keep in mind for the rest of the summer:

  • Tuesday, June 4: Summer I classes begin
  • Thursday, July 4: Independence Day (College closed)
  • Friday, July 5: Last day for undergraduate students to submit incomplete coursework to faculty for Spring 2019 courses.
  • Monday, July 8: Summer II classes begin
  • Friday, July 12: Undergraduate missing and incomplete grades for Spring 2019 courses roll to F.
  • Tuesday, August 20: Fall classes begin

 

The drop-add deadline for full semester courses is Monday, January 14, 2019!
