Dear Student,

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), as amended, is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. In accordance with regulations issued under FERPA, the College of Charleston provides an annual notification to our enrolled students of their rights under FERPA; as well as an explanation of the exceptions under FERPA that allow the College to disclose information from the student’s education record without consent.

This notification is posted at the following link on the website of the Office of the Registrar:  http://registrar.cofc.edu/pdf/FERPA-annual-notification-final-june-2016.pdf

For additional information or for questions concerning the College’s FERPA policy and procedures, please visit this web page http://registrar.cofc.edu/ferpa/index.php or contact the Office of the Registrar directly (email:  registrar@cofc.edu or physical address:  160 Calhoun Street, Lightsey Center, Suite 281).
