Political Science Department Launches Career Cafe Series on September 9

Career Cafe Series Kickoff LuncheonOn September 9, the Department of Political Science will host the first luncheon of the Career Cafe Series. Local political science alumni will speak about how they navigated the transition from college to the professional world and how majoring in political science has helped their careers. A Career Center staff member will also talk about what students can do now to prepare for the future. The September 9 luncheon will take place from 12:00-1:00 pm in Stern Center 205. The Political Science Department will provide a complimentary lunch for the first 20 students that RSVP to WichmannKM@cofc.edu.

Our speakers will include:
Meredith Gerber, Career Counselor at College of Charleston
Brady Quirk-Garvan, C’08, Business Development Associate at Natural Investments: “Money With A Mission” and Chairman of the Charleston County Democratic Party
Margaret Pilarski, C’07, Writer and Consultant at SeaChange
Kate Tiller, C’07, Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services at College of Charleston

Future luncheons in this series will focus on employment opportunities in various economic sectors (non-profit, legal, private, and government). Political science alumni working in these various fields will talk about their careers.  Information about future events is forthcoming.
