The Department of Political Science is excited to welcome Dr. LaTasha Chaffin and Dr. Matthew Nowlin. Dr. LaTasha Chaffin recently earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from Western Michigan University. Her field of specialization is U.S public policy and bureaucratic outcomes and their impacts on diverse and vulnerable populations.
“I am glad to be here and I am excited to meet and interact with the amazing students at the College of Charleston taking courses in the undergraduate Political Science and Master of Public Administration programs. I am also looking forward to engaging academically and socially with the college community at large including the faculty in Political Science,” says Dr. Chaffin.
Dr. Matthew Nowlin earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. His field of specialization is Public Policymaking, environmental policy and policy and research methods.
Dr. Nowlin says, “I am very excited to be joining the faculty at the College of Charleston. I am looking forward to working with students both in the classroom and on research projects. I am also excited to be involved with the MPA and the MES programs.”
