Dining Services announces the Opening of City Bistro on 10/28/2011

The time has finally come!

 As of yesterday, Dining Services was given the ‘go-ahead’ to open the doors to the City Bistro on Friday, October 28th with full-service will begin at lunch (11 am). Below you can find more about the wonderful addition to the College of Charleston’s dining facilities.

 The City Bistro, located in Berry Residence Hall is the College of Charleston’s second residential all-you-care-to-eat restaurant. Prior to the renovation, the location was retail-based with limited options. The impressive design and simplistic décor of the City Bistro triggers an instant inviting atmosphere. Solid hardwood floors, bamboo countertop facings and various hues of green give the City Bistro a classy and luxurious appearance. Bar seating along the windows as well as an outdoor patio will give our customers a great view of the blissful surroundings. A large flat-screen television will be the center of a small entertainment area enclosed with soft contemporary chairs.

 With 4 pristine stations, this facility will offer an upscale rotating menu, consisting of items such as delicious seafood, fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella pizzas, and gourmet burgers. Brick-oven pizzas and hearty pastas will cover one station and is also adjacent to the Mongolian Grill. Located in the heart of the City Bistro will be a fresh salad bar stocked with an array of local produce as well as a Made-to-Order Deli station. Nearby sits the gourmet Dessert Station and Smoothie Bar. 

 Brunch, a student favorite, will be served Saturdays and Sundays until 2:30 pm. To support our sustainability efforts, serviceware used in the City Bistro will be from recycled products and fully compostable. All waste from the location will be fed into a compact pulper, allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint. The City Bistro will also implement a to-go program, allowing customers to take their meal on the run. The convenient walk-up retail windows will soon be available to customers, selling items such as smoothies, ice cream and pizza.

 Breakfast: 7am – 9:30am

 Continential Breakfast: 9:30am – 11am

 Lunch: 11am – 2:30pm

 Lite Lunch: 2:30pm – 4:30pm

 Dinner: 4:30pm – 9pm

 Saturday & Sunday

 Brunch: 10am – 2:30pm

 *location closed from 2:30pm – 4:30pm

 Liberty Street Fresh Food Company is hosting a Fall Carnival Wednesday, October 26th from 4:30pm until 9pm!

 Students can find their carnival menu favorites, such as giant turkey legs, funnel cakes, corn dogs and much more!

 We will also be hosting a pumpkin carving contest with 50 pumpkins available on a first come first serve basis.

The pumpkins will be judged the following day by a panel of faculty and staff members.

Prizes include:

3rd place – $25 Dining Dollars

2nd place – $50 Dining Dollars

1st place – 2 concert tickets to Darius Rucker
