Welcome Letter from the 2011-2012 Student Body President

Parents,

I wanted to welcome all of you to the College, whether you are the parent of a student that will be a senior in the upcoming year or your student has not yet seen their first day of classes as a College of Charleston Cougar.  My name is Ross Kressel and I am the new Student Body President at the College.  I am a rising senior at the College majoring in Political Science.  I was born in New Jersey and lived there until 2001 when my family moved to Marietta, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta) where my mom and dad live today.  I like to joke that I am a fun mix of northern and southern,  and I say y’all fairly naturally after ten years in the south.

During the next year, I will be working with your students to make sure they have the best possible College of Charleston experience.  I am excited about my new role and I am available if you have any questions about the College that I might be able to help you with in addition to the amazing job that Stephanie and Mindy already do.

It can be tough having your student away from home, especially for those leaving for the first time or coming from out of state.

Let me reassure you that the College offers your student a safe, nurturing learning environment where we are partners with the City of Charleston which serves us as both our playground and our living learning laboratory.  Once again let me welcome you and feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance to you or your student.

Sincerely,

Ross Kressel

President of the Student Body
