Updated Multicultural Mural Project: deadline extended until March 14

Multicultural Mural Project

The MSPS will award a $200 book scholarship to the student who submits the best proposal for a mural which will be displayed on the first floor of the Multicultural Center.  The artwork should reflect and celebrate the diversity of the College of Charleston, the local community, as well as major historical accomplishments that have contributed to a more inclusive and multicultural America.  The piece may include painting, drawing, sculpture or any combination of the three mediums. 

Deadline (Extended)

The Multicultural Mural Project has been circulating since early January but due to the lack of entrees; the proposals has been extended and must be received no later than 4:00 pm on Monday, March 14, 2011. Proposals should be submitted on CD readable on a Macintosh or PC and include preliminary drawings, materials, budget, contact info., and a brief statement explaining the concept and theme of the proposal. The winning artist will be notified by Friday, March 18, and the winning artwork should be delivered mandatory no later than Tuesday, March 29.  The winning artist will receive his or her prize on Thursday, March 31 at MSPS sponsored “Shades of You” event (5pm, Stern Ballroom).  Installation shall be coordinated with MSPS staff upon selection of artwork.  Please contact Rebecca Goss, 843-953-5660, GossR@cofc.edu for more information.
