3rd ANNUAL AIDS BENEFIT FASHION SHOW
The Lambda Omicron chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated will be hosting their 3rd Annual Aids Benefit Fashion Show as a part of the College of Charleston’s Homecoming on February 4 2011. We are looking for models and 2 hosts! There will be a casting on January 11 2011 in the NPHC house. Attached is a flier with more information.

Come ride the wave us, join the Center for Civic Engagement for the 2011 Cougars Taking Action service project!!
We will be volunteering with South Carolina Oyster Restoration and Enhancement (SCORE). Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in one of their community-based restoration projects located on James Island. Teams of 2-4 students, will create shell bags out of recycled oyster shells that will be used in the spring to build new reefs.
When: Wednesday February 2, 2011
Time: 12-2 pm or 2-4 pm (Please be there 10 minutes before your shift.)
Where: Outside of the Stern Center on Glebe Street
Registration Deadline: January 26th by 5pm
We will also be collecting Swim Supplies for the City of Charleston Recreation Department. All donations will be distributed to children in need at local aquatic centers.

AID is a bipartisan organization that aims to promote global awareness on campus. Past campaigns topics have included human trafficking, hunger/homelessness, and education. This semester we plan to focus on the upcoming elections, host voter registration drives, and screen documentaries on various global issues, but we are always open to new ideas! To take advantage of this promotion students must sign up in the Dining or Cougar Card Office. Please note: Dining Dollars bought online will not qualify for this promotion. The Dining Office, located in Craig Hall, accepts all major credit cards (excluding VISA) and personal checks. In addition to the previously mentioned forms of payment, the Cougar Card Office, located in Berry Hall, also accepts cash and money orders.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program
The College of Charleston is hosting one of many Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program sites this year on the 2nd floor of the Stern Student Center on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. This is an opportunity for ANYBODY (individual or family) making under $49,000/year to get free tax preparation services by well-trained volunteers. Many of the volunteers throughout the region are CofC students and the Stern Center site is administered exclusively by the College’s Beta Alpha Psi accounting students. Attached is the schedule for all of the sites, which includes addresses, dates and times of service for anyone who is interested in taking advantage of this service.

The club has members of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to competition level kiters. No experience is required and this semester we will begin our comprehensive lesson program to rapidly excell you through the stages of kiteboarding. We are going to be holding our meetings on Wednesdays at 8pm (the first meeting date is TBA) and we will be establishing a weekly day to meet at the beach for lessons once the water warms up a bit.
