parents@cofc.edu Today is the last day of classes and the campus is busy with activity. It’s hard to believe the fall semester is almost over! Your student will begin final exams this week and it can be a highly stressful time. Make a special effort to be supportive and encouraging. Remind your student that they can make it and you have faith in their ability to be successful at the College of Charleston. If needed, refer your student to the resources on campus that may help them make wise academic decisions. After all, that’s what we are all here for… If you or your student is unsure who to contact for help email us at

Walk-In Tutoring Labs close and Individual Tutoring will end on

MONDAY, DEC. 6 Dec 8-15 – Final Exams (see the fall exam schedule for exact time and day for exams)

Most (but not all) residence halls will close over the holiday break at 6pm on Dec 16

th Dec 13 – Spring bills due (currently enrolled students)

Dec 22 – fall final grades are posted

Dec 23-Jan 3 – College of Charleston closed for the holidays

Jan 6-7- orientation for new students admitted for the spring semester

Jan 10 – spring 2011 classes begin

Friday, January 14 is the last day to add or drop classes for the spring 2011 semester

If your student requires an academic transcript from the College of Charleston they will need to submit their request by 5:00pm Friday, Dec. 17. Please direct any questions you may have about this process to

registrar@cofc.edu .All Transcript Requests must be submitted by the end of business on Friday December 17, 2010 in order to ensure the requests are mailed before the end of the year. Please note that transcript requests received after this date will still be processed in the usual first come, first serve basis—therefore it is not guaranteed that all requests submitted after the 17th will be mailed prior to leaving for the holiday break as the processing time is 2-5 business days for all requests. Cougar Alert:

If looking for off campus housing your student may want to look first at the information posted on the Residence Life website (see link below).There is a tab at the top of this webpage called OFF CAMPUS HOUSING – when you place your mouse over this tab a drop-down menu appears where you can get more information about living off campus. The Residence Life department also has an Off Campus Housing office located at 40 Coming Street where students can go for help. There is also a link provided by Residence Life with additional resources for finding housing and what to watch for (See below).

You can receive eBills by having your son/daughter sign you up as an Authorized User on the eBill system. This allows you to receive a copy of the bill/statement when we bill the student through the email system. To become an authorized user visit the website at:

MyCharleston Help:

www.treasurer.cofc.edu. All billing information is sent to the student’s campus email account – to receive the student’s bill you must be an Authorized User! If you have any questions email treasurer@cofc.edu. If you receive error messages when accessing MyCharleston or your eBill call the IT Department Helpdesk (843.953.3375) to report problems between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
