While looking around the course site, getting myself familiar with it, I saw the link to the This is Nollywood Movie Trailer. I remembered that it was the first movie we’re watching in our film festival so I checked it out. For your convenience, I’ve brought it to you so you know what I’m talking about.
I must say I’m intrigued. When Professor Green-Simms said that they were low budget films often of considerable length, I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive. I still am to some degree but what I could see in that short trailer was that the actors, producers and everyone else on the set care about how the movie will turn out.
The majority of low budget films that come out of Hollywood are terrible. But I think most of them are terrible because they know they are at a disadvantage and so don’t attempt to make a good movie. Now the majority of the movies coming out of Nollywood could be just as terrible as the low budget ones coming out of Hollywood but I found the sincerity in the staff to be quite refreshing. What do you think?
