Amboseli K-1

Hello,

Are these children brave or what? They are so eager to learn. Their classroom is a dusty one roomed class. This is the manyatta that is home to around 200 maasai men, women and children. The nearest public school is 10 km or 7.5 miles away.    If these children want an education beyond grade 1, then they have to walk through the national park to the school!  This is the national park where tourists are not allowed to get out from the safari tour vans!

The community wants to add two classes (grades 2-3). This will allow the children to grow older so that they can walk the long trip in search of knowledge.

Here I am–blogging!

This is my first time to be introduced to a blog officially. I have never had the time to sit and learn more about them. I am excited about it. I should have developed a blog for the harambee project. Can we add photos?

As for my students, I would like to see how I can use blogs to enhance my students’ learning. I am very interested in how teacher candidates can use this tool to enhance the learning of their students in the classroom, especially math.
