Miscellany

Miscellany is the undergraduate-produced Literary and Art Journal based at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina and is a part of the CisternYard Media collective. Founded in 1980 by poet Paul Allen and his student, John Aiello, Miscellany has been dedicated for decades to providing a competitive venue for emerging undergraduate writers to submit their work for publication.

We are open to all emerging genres, but typically publish poetry, fiction, and various forms of visual art. Our staff consists of up to ten to twelve dedicated Volunteer Submission Editors who meet with the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor on a weekly basis to select works for the next issue of Miscellany. The finished product is distributed every April.

The 2016 issue of Miscellany was the first national issue of Miscellany. All others before it had exclusively published the undergraduate students of the College of Charleston.
