At the 25th Conference on Spanish in the US at The City College of New York on March 26-29, Drs. Elizabeth Martínez-Gibson and Ricard Viñas-de-Puig presented their respective papers: “A study of the effects of language contact and language change in Spanish-language newspapers in South Carolina” and “The TAM paradigm in Eastern North Carolina Spanish.” Professor Viñas-de-Puig also organized and chaired the panel “Spanishes in the Carolinas.”
Professor Carl Wise’s article “Playing the Crowd: Interpretive History and Audience Participation in Lope de Vega’s La inocente sangre“ has been published in Hispanófila 172 (2014).
