“Digging through Boundaries”

Saturday, February 22 9am – 5pm ~ Wells Fargo Auditorium, Beatty Center (5 Liberty St)

This year’s theme explores the African Diaspora in South Carolina.  Scheduled lectures will include topics ranging from archaeology, history, oral history, folklife studies, and landscape preservation.  Keynote speaker: Dr. Kenneth G. Kelly is a Professor of Anthropology at the University of South Carolina where he teaches historical archaeology and African archaeology.  He will be discussing his archaeological research on African peoples and cultures in both West Africa and the French Caribbean.  Admission is free and includes refreshments.  Donations welcome.
