VPN Software Upgrade

SERVICE: Internal and External VPN
IMPACT: Internal and External VPN Access will be intermittent throughout the identified maintenance window.
DATE: Thursday, September 10, 2015
TIME: 12:00PM to 1:00PM

OVERVIEW: On Thursday, September 10th from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, Network Engineering will perform a software upgrade on equipment that supports the internal and external VPN. During this time, internal and external VPN access will be intermittent. Once upgraded, clients will be prompted to upgrade their VPN client and/or host checker software upon connecting to the VPN.

Emergency Maintenance for CofC-Guest Wireless

SERVICE: CofC-Guest Wireless Network
IMPACT: Wireless network access for CofC-guest will be unavailable
DATE: Thursday, August 27th
TIME: 8:30PM to 10:30PM

OVERVIEW: On Thursday, August 27th at 8:30PM through 10:30PM, Network Engineering will perform emergency maintenance on the Guest network to resolve an issue with the servers that control internet access for users connected to CofC-Guest. Wireless network access for CofC-Guest will be unavailable during this maintenance window. As a reminder for any students, faculty or staff of the College, please connect to CofC-Secure for wireless access.

OAKS Synchronization Issue

College of Charleston’s OAKS Learning Management System is experiencing a technical difficulty at this time. There is a synchronization issue between OAKS and MyCharleston (Banner). We are currently working with the vendor to correct it. If you notice any discrepancies in OAKS such as a course not being displayed properly or incorrect class lists, please know that IT is working with the vendor to find a solution.

We understand that it is a busy time for OAKS and we’re working diligently to fix the issue. We will keep the campus informed of our progress.

Bell Data Center Network Maintenance

SERVICE: Bell Data Center Network Maintenance
IMPACT: No interruption to service is expected
DATE: Sunday, August 23rd, 2015
TIME: 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM

OVERVIEW: On Sunday, August 23rd at 5:00 PM through 5:30PM, Network Engineering will perform emergency maintenance on equipment that network connectivity to the Bell Data Center. No interruption to service is expected.

  • 89 St. Philip Street Garage
  • McAlister Hall (Administrative)
  • Kelley House (Administrative)
  • Calhoun Annex
  • 170 Calhoun Street (Treasurer’s Office)

Wired network and Internet connectivity will be unavailable during this maintenance window. Wireless network and internet connectivity will not be affected.
