SERVICE: Banner Workflow

TIME: 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Overview: On Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, IT will perform emergency maintenance to Banner Workflow to resolve an issue. Banner Workflow and CofC Web Forms on MyCharleston MyForms tab will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

MyCharleston Maintenance – 3/8/17

DATE: Wednesday, March 8, 2017

TIME: 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM

 

Overview: On Wednesday March 8, 2017 from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM, IT will perform emergency maintenance to MyCharleston to fix an issue with Google Chrome. MyCharleston will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

Recent updates to Google’s Chrome browser (versions 55 & 56) are causing issues with MyCharleston not loading properly.

New MyCharleston Password Recovery Functionality

*At this time, Information Technology will postpone the MyCharleston Password Recovery Implementation that was originally scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday August 19th, until after the start of classes. We will keep the campus informed of the new implementation date.

We are excited to announce an upcoming improvement to your MyCharleston password recovery experience. We are implementing a functionality that will allow you to manually recover your Cougars password by answering a series of questions. You will no longer need to contact Helpdesk to recover or reset your Cougars password. This new functionality also improves the security of the password recovery process.

When Information Technology implements this new functionality, you will be asked to complete your recovery profile when you first log into MyCharleston. You’ll be asked to answer a series of eight questions.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • You will only have to set up your recovery profile once.
  • If you forget your password, you’ll be prompted to answer two of the eight questions to recover your password manually.
  • The login process will not change.
  • All eight questions must be answered.
  • No duplicate answers will be accepted.

MyCharleston Service Disruption

Update 8/11/14 at 1:12PM: The College of Charleston’s MyCharleston has been restored and is operating normally. If you should have questions, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 953-3375 or helpdesk@cofc.edu.

8/11/14 at 12:15PM: The College of Charleston’s MyCharleston is experiencing an unscheduled disruption in service.  Information Technology is aware of the situation. In order to restore service, IT will restart MyCharleston starting at 12:45PM today. Users will experience a brief disruption in service.

There is an known synchronization issue between the Banner class list and the OAKS class list that occurs during the Drop/Add period. This may result in a student’s record not being updated properly in OAKS.  The synchronization process between OAKS and Banner has a 99% success rate — as a result a very small number of users may have experienced this issue.  It is very important to IT that we find a solution.  Internally, we have developed a short term solution that we hope to implement before the start of our Spring 2014 semester. We are also working diligently with our Vendors to find a long term solution.  IT will keep the campus updated with progress.

Update your Cougar Alert Information!

With the hurricane season upon us, please take time to update your Cougar Alert information. In the event of a storm or other campus emergency, the College will communicate the important information with you via the Cougar Alert.

Follow the easy steps below now and mark one more thing off of your to do list:

  • Open your web browser and go to https://my.cofc.edu
  • Log in to MyCharleston using your Cougars username and password

  • Once logged in, click on the My Accounts tab

  • Scroll down until you see the Cougar Alert widget

  • To update your email addresses, click on the Update your Email Addresses for Cougar Alert link
  • Follow the instructions given and update your email addresses (Please note that you can have two email addresses listed, you may want to consider adding a non-CofC email address)
  • Click Submit
  • Once saved, click on the Back to My Account Tab link in the upper left hand corner
  • Again scroll down until you see the Cougar Alert widget
  • Update your phone numbers by clicking the Update Your Phones for Cougar Alert link
  • Follow the instructions given and update your phone numbers
