IMPACT: All College owned Windows devices are required to be migrated from Symantec to Kaspersky
DATE: On-going
TIME: On-going

College of Charleston is transitioning to new anti-virus protection software.  Virus protection is critical to maintain a secure computing environment, and the College will be migrating from Symantec to Kaspersky in December and January for uninterrupted protection. The new Kaspersky solution will allow the College to respond quicker and more efficiently identify and react to malware/adware. Kaspersky will also offer additional functionality that IT will be evaluating which includes file and disk encryption, mobile device management and application updates.

College of Charleston’s IT staff will be remotely installing Kaspersky during the dates below. Please leave your College Windows device powered on during this time. After the installation is complete you will be prompted to reboot your machine.

Timetable is below:

  • January 27-28, 2016 – Campus Rollout

After the dates above IT will continue to Rollout Kaspersky as needed to remove Symantec around campus.
