IMPACT: Users will not be able to edit, add or delete new content on WordPress blogs during this maintenance window.
DATE: Starting – Tuesday, July 8 at 10am until Wednesday, July 9, 2014
OVERVIEW: Information Technology will be transitioning to a new hosting solution for WordPress blogs (blogs.cofc.edu) due to an increase in use. The new environment will improve performance and security through more robust infrastructure and services. During the migration, users will not be able to edit, add or delete content on the WordPress blogs.
With the migration of WordPress, blog URLs will not change. After the migration, you will continue to login and manage your WordPress blogs the same way. The migration may affect some users who utilize the plugins feature. The new hosted solution manages an active list of allowed and disallowed plugins. Disallowed plugins often provide duplicate functionality or are known to cause security or performance issues. Information Technology will notify users affected by disallowed plugins immediately after the migration, and work with the host to find an alternate solution where possible. Please be aware that some plugins and their functionality may not be replaceable.
