Donna to the Rescue

6/8/14 – Due to inclement weather earlier in the week, Sunday was our longest site visit. After we took 21 samples the first two field days, Carter and Eric started to worry about the amount of samples we were allowed to take and the amount of samples we had left to take. We were restricted to 30 samples by the Irish government. So we began a new numbering system after 21, going by letters.

Earlier while sampling we had put off taking samples from high places. However, as sample areas become fewer we had to go back and take the high samples. Now, instead of logically getting a ladder, we decided to use the next best thing, a human ladder! Donna graciously volunteered to go on top of Carter’s shoulders and thankfully we got a usable sample!

Before we left, we checked in at the Ballynatray main estate house. We were lucky enough to peek inside! Later that night we enjoy Donna’s delicious stew and had a quiet night in.
