Rotary Global Grant: Earn 50K for Overseas Graduate Study

Juniors and Seniors! Please attend an upcoming information session to learn more about applying for a Rotary Ambassadorial Global Grant, which supports graduate studies overseas for graduating seniors and recent graduates. Recipients pursue degrees leading to  sustainable high-impact outcomes in one or more of the six Areas of Focus, which include Peace & Conflict Resolution, Disease Prevention & Treatment, Maternal & Child Health, Economic & Community Development, Basic Education & Literacy, and Water & Sanitation. This award is ideal for Juniors or Seniors planning a gap year as grants will fund study during the 2017-18 academic year.

Rotary Foundation Global Grants support graduate studies overseas for graduating seniors and recent graduates. Graduate pursue degrees leading to  sustainable high-impact outcomes in one or more of the six Areas of Focus, which include Peace & Conflict Resolution, Disease Prevention & Treatment, Maternal & Child Health, Economic & Community Development, Basic Education & Literacy, and Water & Sanitation.

  • Eligibility: Junior, Senior, or recent graduate with plans to pursue overseas studies in one of six Areas of Focus. Open to international students as well as U.S. citizens.
  • Award: minimum of $30,000, maximum $50,000 for overseas graduate study.
  • Deadlines:
    • Internal: April 15
    • District: June 1
    • District Interviews: Late August
    • Note: April applicants would plan on graduate study beginning the fall after the current calendar year. This means that a graduating senior applicant would anticipate a gap year before the program begins if selected.
  • Notes: Although there is not official nomination process, the NCA office works closely with the local Rotary district to recruit applicants and process their applications internally before the district deadline.

MUSC Sustainability & Recycling Internship

What: MUSC’s Sustainability and Recycling Department is seeking an intern with a passion for sustainability to work on sustainability related initiatives, projects, and events
Responsibilities: Work on sustainability projects including but not limited to: Greenhouse Gas Audit/Analysis, Zero Waste, Sustainable Food, Energy Management, Transportation, and Sustainable Move-out Policy; Assist with planning, promotion, and orchestration of  Sustainability and Recycling Events; Assist in designing educational and promotional activities that will encourage recycling and other sustainable behaviors.

Duration: 10-13 week internship – (~10hrs a week) – $250-325 stipend

Koru Mindfulness Classes

What: Koru is a 4 week mindfulness curriculum designed specific to meet the needs of students. All four classes are mandatory for attending. This class does not provide course credit through the college.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Scholarships

pkp_circleWhat: Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Seventy-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year.

Who: Any CofC student with a GPA of 3.75+ whose study abroad program is between May 2017 and May 2018. More requirements can be found on the program website.

Deadline: Session A deadline is February 15, 2017 and Session B deadline is September 15, 2017

SCORE Social Media Intern

scoreWhat: Social Media Internship is offered for the semester to work with our head of technical support at SCORE Charleston to expand current social media opportunities for improved communications and marketing to the Lowcountry business community and interested students.
