Research Specialist I Position

What: Under the supervision of the PI, the selected research specialist will perform analytical experiments including cell isolation and electrophysiology, and in vitro experiments using isolated cardiomyocytes and electrophysiological fluorescence measurements. This specialist will also design and maintain electrophysiological and fluorometric biomedical equipment and implement computer code for analysis of imaging data. Job duties include cell culture, literature research, experiments, isolating cardiomyocytes from rats, assist in undergraduate training, maintain day-to-day operations of the lab, perform molecular biology assays, and perform other duties as assigned by the PI. This position requires 40 hours per week and involves working with animals.

To Apply: Applicants must have at least a high school diploma and two years work experience in a clinical or research setting. A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or healthcare science may be substituted for the two years of required experience.
