Post 9/11 Veteran Support Internship

What: The Vantage Point Foundation is seeking an intern to assist in multiple aspects of our operations. Ideally, they would be in the Social Work field. They would be assisting us in identifying, communicating with, and vetting local resources for veterans. We would also utilize them for tasks in support of our resiliency training, veterans transition course, and daily operations. Lastly we would utilize them to assist with various administrative tasks associated with non-profit fundraising such as data organization.

Alternative Break Site Leader Application 2017-2018

What: Alternative Break is a transformative experiential learning opportunity for students to take part in during academic breaks. The Alternative Break program seeks to empower students to expand their horizons of self-awareness and social responsibility. Alternative Break works passionately for social justice through direct service and a curriculum encompassing topics that fuel progress for positive social change. The Site Leader position is a committed leadership role within the Alternative Break Program and the Center for Civic Engagement, ideal for any student who is interested in working for social justice
When:  The Site Leader role is a nine-month commitment from September 2017 through April 2018. Site Leaders can expect to spend 3-6 hours per week planning and organizing trip logistics

NASA DEVELOP National Program – Opportunity for Students & Recent Grads

What: NASA DEVELOP National Program

Where: NOAA’s National Center for Environmental Information (NCEI) in downtown Asheville, NC

When: 10-week programs are available during the summer, fall, and spring

Who: Anyone 18 and over, including currently enrolled college students and recent graduates

Why: Enhance technical and professional skills, receive and introduction to NASA Earth observation capabilities, and gain research and scientific communication experience.
