“The Cuban film, ‘Fresa y Chocolate,’ is the story of friendship between a young student (a loyal member of the Communist Party), and a gay political activist, who is critical of the government’s censorship. It is an amazing film for a number of reasons. It presents a balanced and somewhat critical view of the Cuban political system. Help Ban the Sale of Plastic Bottles at the College of Charleston

Calling all bright-minded individuals!  The Earth is in dire need of your help.  The Honors College will be hosting a presentation by fellow CofC student Adam Taylor on banning the sale of plastic water bottles at the College of Charleston.  This meeting will be a brain-storming session and we are looking for your help on pushing this issue.  If you feel like you have something to say or just want to attend, please plan to attend this session. Does the market work through an invisible hand? What would this mean? Does the invisible hand give us permission to pursue our self-interest without worrying about others? Dr. Baker will present various interpretations of the invisible hand and then will defend just one.
