AmeriCorps VISTA Opportunities for Alumni

The Charleston Area Service Collaborative (CASC) is an AmeriCorps VISTA program run through the Mayor’s Office for Children, Youth, and Families. AmeriCorps members are placed at area government agencies, universities, and non-profits with programs focused on education, health, or veteran services. VISTAs focus on creating sustainable systems and building organizational capacity through in-direct service. Previous VISTAs have focused in areas such as resource development, program management, and volunteer management.

CASC is in the process of recruiting new VISTAs for the upcoming service year. This is a year-long commitment starting in August. Members receive a monthly living stipend, health coverage, loan deferment, and a $5500 Education Award upon completion of service.
