E-mail Configuration Changes
IT does not support use of POP3 or IMAP email programs from off-campus computers, and is eliminating service for off campus computers to send email to other off-campus recipients using gibbes.cofc.edu.
IT can no longer provide Outbound SMTP service using gibbes.cofc.edu for off campus computers.

Conficker Virus Alert
Since November, the computer worm, Conflicker has been spreading across the Internet and has now infected over 9 million PCs. If infected, attackers can take complete control of your PC. How big is too big?
Do you want to send an email with attachments? Most email systems have a 10MB size limitation on email. To ensure that the email will arrive safely, keep it under 10MB.

Never respond to an email that asks for your username and password.
IT will never request this information via email regardless of how legitimate or genuine it may seem.
When in doubt, call the helpdesk first.
