If you are constantly trying to schedule meetings around everyone’s schedule – then you should try Doodle Calendar. Doodle calendar allows you to schedule events using Facebook, iGoogle, and Outlook. What’s unique about Doodle is that it allows you to invite people to take polls and make choices. Check it out. Take me to doodle calendar!
I think of TeacherTube as a YouTube for teachers of course. You can browse hundreds of videos that relate specifically to fractions, measurement, weather, etc. This is a great resource to find videos to enhance your instruction. Check it out for yourself, and comment on what you think!
Applications are now being accepted for the Summer 2009 Faculty Technology Institute. This Institute is taught by the Instructional Technologists of Teaching, Learning, and Technology. As a participant in this Institute, you will learn about Web 2.0 tools. Some of the classes include, Voicethread, Wikis, Audacity, Video-editing, Google tools, blogs, podcasting, etc. This Institute will start on May 25 to June 5th (Memorial Day will be recognized). Sign up if you are interested in learning new technologies that you can easily incorporate into your classes!

Teaching, Learning, and Technology announces the much anticipated Spring 2009 Faculty Technology Institute! The FTI is open to all CofC faculty! Mark you calendars!
Why should you attend the FTI?
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn a variety of Web 2.0 tools from the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Team. We will work with you over a period of four days to help you master innovative tools that you can incorporate in your classes. Overall, the technology you learn will not only enhance your students’ learning outcomes, but can also make your classes more engaging!

How do you apply?
Applications are available on the Teaching, Learning, and Technology website – www.cofc.edu/tlt. Click on technology-enhanced teaching link! Please submit applications to Beatties@cofc.edu by December 19, 2008 for consideration. Applicants will be notified by January 6, 2009.
All applicants are required to:
Complete an application with the following information
• Description of current use of technology in your teaching
• List of courses to be taught during Summer 2009, Fall 2009, and Spring 2010.
• Brief statement of intent
What do you gain from attending the FTI?
In addition to the invaluable knowledge you will learn, you also earn a stipend of $650.00. Also, participants will receive a variety of technology devices. Faculty in the past have left with some toys such as iPods, external hard drives, flip cameras, and digital cameras.
