PRESIDENT: Tokea (Kea) G. Payton

Kea is in her second year of the Masters of Science, Marine Biology program. She is currently surveying for microplastics in the Charleston Harbor and in the marine food web. As President of GSCA, she is dedicated to supporting the organization and enhancing the reception of diversity at the College.

PRESIDENT: Ciera M. Gordon

Ciera is in her second year of the Masters of History program, with a concentration in African American Studies. When she completes her program, she hopes to work in the field of Public History, helping to increase the representation and interpretation of minority histories in museums, historic houses, and plantations. As Founding President of GSCA, she is dedicated to creating a supportive atmosphere for minority students in graduate school and working to solve diversity issues at the College.

VICE PRESIDENT: Tokea (Kea) G. Payton

Kea is in her second year of the Masters of Science, Marine Biology program. She is currently surveying for microplastics in the Charleston Harbor and in the marine food web. When she completes the program she hopes to continue her studies in a PhD program working on tropical marine ecosystems. As Vice President of GSCA, she is dedicated to supporting the organization and enhancing the reception of diversity at the College.

Eliza Chisholm

SECRETARY: Eliza A. Chisholm

Eliza is currently enrolled in the One-Year Global M.B.A. Program with a marketing focus at the School of Business. Upon completing her Master of Business Administration, she plans to launch a career in international marketing for a global company. Eliza is passionate about travel, cultural immersion, and internationalism and seeks for her professional path to reflect those passions. As Secretary of GSCA, she is personally eager to utilize those same passions to further increase racial and ethnic diversity at the College of Charleston.

TREASURER: Chemir June

Chemir is in her second year of the Masters in Arts in Teaching program at the College with a focus in Special Education (Learning Disabilities). After the completion of the program, she hopes to become a Resource Teacher for elementary grade levels. As the current Secretary and Treasurer for GSCA, she is dedicated to public relations and the financial stability of the organization.
