In need of some laughs this holiday season? We asked our graduate student community on our Instagram (@cofcgradschool) and the GSA’s Facebook group ( to share their go-to podcasts, and boy did they deliver! This edition encompasses the best of comedy, as recommended by our graduate students!

The Dollop:

This podcast stars comedians Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds and tells humors retellings of historical figures and events, specifically chosen for their weirdness or hilarity. Anthony tells the stories and both give the laughs.

Fake Doctors, Real Friends:

Anyone else re-watching Scrubs during quarantine? Why do it alone when you can be joined by J.D. and Turk! Actors, fake doctors, and real friends Zach Braff and Donald Faison re-watch their hit television series, episode-by-episode, while sharing behind-the-scenes stories and favorite memories from filming.

Promoted as a show that “makes smart people feel dumb…and then smart again”, this podcast trivia show features celebrities contestants and a live studio audience. Hosts J. Keith van Straaten and Helen Hong give trivia on a subject chosen by the celebrity guest, and then are joined by an expert in that topic. Guests have included Margaret Cho, Lea Thompson, Paul F. Tompkins, and Paul Scheer.

Looking for advice from people extremely unqualified to give it? The McElroy Brothers, Justin, Travis, and Griffin, serve up laughs and questionable advice you definitely shouldn’t follow on this podcast that includes live shows and questions from Yahoo.
