We’ve all needed a quick snack or cup of coffee between classes, and the College’s on-campus dining services are here for you! From grab-and-go snacks, to buffet meals, to a one-stop grocery spot, graduate students have a plethora of options available to them for eating on campus. Please note that operational hours vary by time of year, so please visit https://charleston.campusdish.com/ for the latest information! We’re listing out all the places to grab a bite between classes, ranked alphabetically:
Chick-fil-A (162C Calhoun Street):
An express version of Chick-fil-A is available to students on the corner of Calhoun and Saint Phillip Street. Serving up favorites like breakfast chicken biscuits, spicy chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes! This location accepts Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
City Bistro (Berry Hall):
City Bistro is located in Berry Residence Hall on the corner of Calhoun and Saint Phillip Street. A café-style dining hall, City Bistro serves up lunch, dinner, and late night options. Menu items include deli selections, a salad bar, pizza, Mongolian plates, simple selections, and baked goods. This dining hall accepts Meal Swipes, Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
Einstein Bros. Bagels (80-B Saint Phillip Street):
Need brunch on the go? Einstein Bros. Bagels is here for you! Offering an array of breakfast, lunch, and brunch bagels, sides, and sweets, Einstein Bros. Bagels is a great stop on your way to an early class or late-morning meeting. This student staple accepts Maroon Meals, Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
Liberty St. Fresh Food Company (30 Saint Phillip Street):
Liberty St. Fresh Food Company is an all-you-care-to-eat dining hall located across the street from the Education Center and the School of Business. Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this dining hall has stations for all appetites, including flame-grilled entrees, brick-oven pizza, vegetarian stir-fry, pasta, a salad bar, a cereal bar, and desserts. There’s even a station for allergy-friendly meals! This dining hall accepts Meal Swipes, Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
Market 159 (159 Calhoun Street):
Market 159 is a one-stop-shop for your grocery needs in a pinch! Carrying an array of drinks, late-night snacks, fresh fruits, microwave meals, as well as Grab & Go sandwiches, salads, and sushi, this mini grocery store is perfect for students on the run! This location accepts Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash. Meal Swipes are available for use on certain sandwich/salad combos.
Marty’s Place (96 Wentworth Street):
Marty’s Place is located in the Sylvia Vlosky Yaschik Jewish Studies Center, and offers made-to-order vegan and vegetarian dishes in a kitchen that follows Kosher dietary laws. This dining hall accepts Meal Swipes, Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
P.O.D. Express (Various Locations):
Provisions On Demand (P.O.D.) Express offers quick, on-the-go options perfect for between classes or meetings. With locations in the Education Center, Rita Hollings, and Maybank Hall, P.O.D. is there with drinks, chips, candy, fruit cups, yogurt parfaits, and freshly made deli sandwiches and salads. Some locations even have Starbucks coffee! P.O.D.s accept Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
Starbucks (Addlestone Library):
Need a break from studying and research? Starbucks is conveniently located on the first floor of the Addlestone Library! Serving up your favorite caffeinated beverages and bakery delights, Starbucks offers seating in their café as well as outside the library. This location accepts Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
Stern Center Food Court (Stern Student Center):
The Food Court at Stern offers students variety while on campus. Enjoy Olilo, owned by celebrity chef Cat Cora, a Boar’s Head Deli, Roll with It sushi, and much, much more! This location accepts Maroon Meals, Dining Dollars, Cougar Cash, Credit Card, and Cash.
Graduate students at the College are not required to sign up for a meal plan as part of their experience on campus. However, they are more than welcome to do so! For more information on meal plans available for graduate students, please visit https://charleston.campusdish.com/MealPlans.
