Register for Spring RCR Workshops Now

I know it’s hard to plan ahead during Spring Break, but the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Seminar dates are quickly approaching. They’re a vital component of your graduate study, regardless of your discipline, and attendance is strongly encouraged if you haven’t yet been to one. To register, you will need to e-mail Niki DeWeese with your name, the date you plan on attending,  and your graduate program. Here are the complete details:

As a College of Charleston graduate student, you should attend one Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) workshop prior to graduating.  This semester’s workshop is led by Eileen Callahan, the Research Compliance Coordinator at the College.

Recommended by the Council of Graduate Schools, this seminar will prepare you for your future studies and experiences in the academic and professional spheres, regardless of your discipline.

We encourage you to take this opportunity jointly sponsored by the Graduate Studies Office and the Office of Research and Grants Administration.  It is not only a chance to familiarize yourself with the ethical standards that apply to circumstances we all face in our professional lives, it is also a chance to meet colleagues, share experiences and network.

Multiple sessions are available for your convenience, and a separate session altogether for students enrolled in the MAT and M.Ed. programs.

Students receiving their certificate or degree in Education can attend a workshop exploring the research and responsibilities unique to educators.  The date for teachers is Monday, March 22 at 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the (old) Science Center room 123.  If you cannot attend this workshop, you are welcome to attend either workshop offered below.

All students are invited to attend one of two workshops:

  • Thursday, March 18 5:30-8:30 p.m. in room 111 of the Education Center
  • Saturday, April 10, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Location is TBA.

Please register by emailing Niki DeWeese, and letting her know:

  • Your full name
  • Your degree program
  • The workshop for which you are registering

If you have already attended an RCR workshop,  no action is necessary.

Enjoy your Spring Break!
