The word is out about Bryant Holsenbeck’s Bottle Cap Mandala!

The mandala will be in the Rotunda of the Addlestone Library through November 22, 2010. Make sure to stop by and see this incredible work of art!

Bottle Cap Mandala Complete!

After three days and more than 50 student and community volunteers, Bryant Holsenbeck’s Bottle Cap Mandala is complete and on view in the Rotunda of the Addlestone Library!

Visit the exhibit page for more information and photographs!

Stop by the library this evening between 5pm – 7pm for the opening – and visit tomorrow at 11am for a special lecture with the artist. You can also visit the Halsey Institute for the opening of Chris Jordan’s Running the Numbers, part of bluesphere: earth art expo.

The exhibit will be open through November 22. You may also visit the Addlestone Library during normal hours to view the mandala!

Environmental Artist Bryant Holsenbeck arrives…with 50,000 bottle caps.

Environmental Artist Bryant Holsenbeck travelled from Durham, NC yesterday to start her mini-residency at the College of Charleston’s Addlestone Library this week. And, she brought 50,000 of her favorite bottle caps and jar lids.

Holsenbeck will begin creating her three-dimensional installation – a mandala – this morning in the Rotunda of the Addlestone Library. And she needs help!

Come out and join Holsenbeck and she constructs a work of art that calls attention to the detritus – everyday objects which were used once and thrown away – that she has spent a lifetime collecting. She’ll be working from 9am to 4pm this week.

Join us this Friday, October 22 at 5pm for the opening of her mandala! And, on Saturday, October 23, you’ll have an opportunity to hear from the artist herself in our special Artist’s Lecture at 11am. Click here for more details.
