From Page to Screen: Professors’ Short Stories Become Short Films

We all know that art can inspire more art, but what happens when art is translated from one medium to another? Professors Bret Lott and Tony Varallo will find out this June when their short stories will make a big screen debut at the Expecting Goodness Film Festival in Spartanburg, SC.  Lott’s “What About My Lawn” and Varallo’s “Slow Car” were two short stories from South Carolina writers chosen to be turned into short films.  Read director Cedric Barber’s interview on what it was like to film Lott’s short story.
