The CofC Student Film Club acknowledged on the Discovery Channel

An episode of Discovery Channel’s Expedition Unknown, “Cracking the Secret,” was shot last spring and aired October 2. The episode consisted of the host, Josh Gates, traveling all over the country to find the treasures featured in The Secret, a cryptic book published in the 1980s. While in Charleston, Josh was searching for a treasure that is supposedly hidden underneath White Point Garden. A link to a Post and Courier article on the episode is here.

Then in August, after principle photography was completed, Student Film Club members Noah Goodman, Eli Saliba, and Dan Colella were given the opportunity to assist the show with some reshoots the producers needed. Noah, Eli, and Dan were tasked with reshooting, with equipment borrowed from Addlestone Library’s digital filmmaking lab, exteriors in the rain for a scene in which Josh is talking to a specialist inside his car as he drives around Charleston. Dan Colella says, “it was definitely a great experience helping out with the show and seeing our work on TV.”
