Today a group of us drove to Assisi, about 50 kilometers down the valley
from Spoleto. We walked the streets, had cappuccinos, visited a couple of
churches other than the upper and lower basilicas of Saint Francis. We saved
those for last, and on the way turned off into one interesting alley and
then another, ending up at an overlook of the entry to the upper basilica,
shown here.
