In mid-June, The College of Charleston hosted the 7th annual Early Childhood Summit where early childhood educators and administrators developed their professional networks and deepened their early childhood pedagogical practices. This one-and-a-half-day conference hosted networking opportunities and 23 pertinent, innovative and relevant workshops to choose from offering DSS credit for attendance.
This year’s theme was Putting the Pieces Together, and conversations focused on the following four strands; Nurturing Early Development, Honoring the Voice of the Young Child, Advocating for Children and Families, and Promoting the Well-Being of Early Childhood Practitioners. The Early Childhood Summit was pleased to welcome Dr. Kathleen Gallagher to share the provisions for high quality early education. Other keynote speakers included Mr. Craig King and Dr. Jean.
