Venue: The workshop venue is Harbor Walk East, Computer Science Department building (360 Concord St., Charleston, 29424). There is a free bus, uber.

Parking: You may park close to the venue if you chose to drive your car, at the Aquarium Garage.

Summer 2019 Workshop Overview

Day 1

  • Welcome remarks: Project CyberPaths
  • Hands on introduction to GENI – A GENI tutorial will be used with view to computer networks and cyber security education
  • Intro to cyber security labs
  • Digital certificate multiple levels lab

Day 2

  • Intro to OpenFlow
  • Intrusion Detection on GENI
    • Intro to Intrusion Detection and Snort
    • Hands on Exercise on GENI: install Snort, write custom alert, analyze logs
  • Advanced GENI Labs

Day 3 

  • GenEd CyberSecurity Modules for Liberal Arts – hands on instruction and presentation of non technical material for general education
  • Courses designed for Liberal Arts – presentation of courses and open ended discussion on improvements/suggestions
