Zeno Group: Seeking Research & Insights Communication Intern (Spring 2020)

Position Description:  This is a paid internship. We are currently searching for a full-time intern to join our burgeoning Research & Insights team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and skillset in writing and communications, be passionate about the news and cultural trends, and have a strong desire to understand “what makes people tick”. An understanding of basic research concepts is a plus. In keeping with our philosophy of listening before we speak, Zeno is unique among PR agencies of our size due in large part to our dedicated research and planning function. As a result, we never do things based strictly on guesswork or mere intuition. We are data and insight-driven. The team looks at relevant industry trends; we dig deep to comprehend the cultural and societal landscape, so that everything we do is anchored by a clear and resonant strategy.

About You: 

An ideal candidate must be a keen writer and communicator – curious, resourceful, persistent and up to the challenge of uncovering insights buried in both primary and secondary research sources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. We look forward to hearing from bright and creative candidates who are self-motivated and committed to exceeding client, industry, and personal expectations. Specifically, the ideal candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree (recent graduate or current student – preferred majors include English, History, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, etc.)
  • Aptitude for research, especially as it relates to uncovering relevant trends and societal shifts
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, and the ability to organize one’s thinking to establish a thoughtful point of view on work
  • Strong design skills to help build presentation materials – MS Office (including MS PowerPoint and Word) proficiency is a must – advanced design skills would be highly valued
  • Great organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative spirit, results-driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work against deadlines
  • Resourceful and proactive with the ability to operate effectively – both independently and within a team
  • Basic understanding of how data is used in research
  • Previous experience with survey research and memo writing is a plus
