Social Media & Design Internship – Creative Consulting

Our team at Creative Consulting is looking for a new team member that can assist with managing our social media accounts and campaigns, work with a variety of design projects, and bring some new creativity into our field! This internship offer has the potential to become a permanent, payable position within our staff, as well.

We are located in downtown Summerville, with an office location and workspace for the individual. We have free parking, we’re close to all the local shops and businesses in town, and work together as a unit on majority of projects. We will be looking for the individual to work at our office in Summerville 3 days out of the work week, for 4-5 hrs each day (12-15hrs weekly).

Internship Title: Social Media & Design Intern

Duration of Internship: Summer 2019 (June 3rd 2019 – August 30 2019)

Compensation: Unpaid

Supervisor: The individual will be mentored and supervised by Meg Thompson, the CO & Art Director.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Management of our social media platforms
  • Content creation for our social media platforms
  • Conduct Research for content, events, and engagement related to business
  • Attend regular team meetings and events
  • Minor Design work for graphics to be posted on social media
  • Design work to assist with large scale projects (ie. infographics, media graphics, cover photos, header photos, etc.)
  • Engagement and Interaction with other accounts and businesses online
  • Message Management for our social media platforms in coordination with our team

Need to know or be familiar/comfortable with:

  • Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, and/or Photoshop for graphic design work
  • Content Creation/ Creative Writing
  • Facebook / Instagram / Twitter / LinkedIn (Any unknown or unfamiliar social media platforms can and would be taught at beginning of internship)
  • GSuite use : Google Drive, Gmail, Google Doc, Google Sheets, etc.

Learning Objectives:

This internship will teach the individual how to:

  • Successfully manage and maintain social media accounts for businesses
  • Continued education in graphic design work
  • Inspire regular creative writing and practices
  • Time management and work discipline in a creative field
  • How to function within a team of creatives in project work
  • Provide opportunities to network and engage with other businesses online and in person
