Hours: 10-12 hours per week
Position Description: We are looking for an intern to assist with our social media marketing efforts, e-newsletter, graphic design, and web design. You will learn the ins and outs of our business and how to make social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts. This internship is an unpaid position and hours vary. If you are interested, please submit a writing sample, social media sample, your resume, and a cover letter.
Responsibilities: The Social Media/Marketing Intern would be responsible for the following:
- Assisting with the creation of content and coordinating social media posts via Facebook, Instagram, etc.
- Assisting with the development of the e-newsletter content
- Some graphic design projects
- Website design (template)
- Tracking of Media Hits & Paid Ads
- Distributing Media Releases
- Attending media or committee meetings as needed
- Assisting with the implementation of Sales Force database
- Researching trends and outreach related to the marine industry to ensure that the target audience is reached
- Performing other duties as assigned by Communications Director or Development Coordinator
Skills:
- Experience with Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram required
- Graphic Design skills
- Must possess a solid understanding of social media
- Must display great attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple platforms simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Flexible and willing to step in and provide hands-on assistance as needed
Qualifications: The right candidate must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business administration, or other similar field.
