About With Purpose: Every year, more children in the United States are lost to cancer than any other disease. Yet less than 4% of the federal funding for cancer goes toward childhood cancer research. With Purpose is a non-profit organization dedicated to filling this funding gap in a totally unique way.
Michael Lee and Erin Benson created With Purpose after their two-year-old son Sam was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013. With Purpose’s mission is to end childhood cancer by integrating charitable choices into your everyday purchases. Take a class at a gym. Enjoy a glass of beer. Buy a bouquet of flowers. Do the things you’re already doing, but when you do them With Purpose, a portion of the proceeds goes to childhood cancer research. With your help, everyday purchases can serve a bigger purpose than we’ve ever imagined. You don’t need a lot of money. You don’t need a lot of time. It’s about giving people little ways to make a big difference in the fight against childhood cancer. And hopefully, we’re giving families like ours more options—and one day, a cure.
Position Description: Our business model is a win-win for With Purpose and local businesses. When a business agrees to a) donate to our organization b) host a one-time promotional event c) partner with us more permanently, we, in turn, promote their business to drive in new traffic. Moreover, as a 501c3, any donation to With Purpose is tax deductible.
This event planner position calls for a gregarious, self-starting, and creative student to introduce With Purpose in your community. You will be asked to create, design, market, and manage With Purpose events and/or partnerships with local businesses.
