Job Description: We’re looking for a college graduate to work as a summer intern in our Denver Economic Development practice (May – Aug) for 30 hours/week. Our paid Internship Program offers recent graduates the opportunity to gain unmatched marketing and public relations experience by working with diverse cities, regions, states and countries. We offer our clients a variety of services – many of which our Interns are exposed to – including media relations, event planning, community branding, marketing blueprints, website development, social and digital media marketing and talent attraction, among others.

Daily Life for a Public Relations Intern

DCI’s Interns are viewed as members of our teams. Our Economic Development Interns support our day-to-day client work while also participating in skills-building Professional Development Sessions. Typical projects that Interns work on include:

  • Coordinating logistics and providing support for press visits to client locations
  • Providing support for client events
  • Writing pitches and assisting with media correspondence
  • Building media lists
  • Conducting research on a variety of industries and across multiple projects
  • Digital work, including drafting social media posts & writing blogs

In addition, our Interns have plenty of opportunities to participate in perks like our Health & Wellness program, which includes yoga and bootcamp in the park, as well as in-house happy hours and free lunches.

Job Scope:

The Business Services team works on multiple development projects to enhance our internal software tools. The technical writer intern will work closely with project managers, system administrators, and developers to correctly and efficiently document enhancements and bug fixes. This role will be a key contributor to the team’s ability to deliver value to our internal customers by providing clear and relevant documentation.

Internship Description:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a nonprofit organization that educates the public on the necessary conditions for business and communities to thrive, how business positively impacts communities, and helps businesses prepare for the future.

We are seeking research interns for the spring semester (exact dates are flexible).

The students we select to fill this position will report to the Director of Emerging Issues at the Foundation. During the internship, students will learn about complex issues and new technologies while honing their writing, research and communication skills in a friendly workplace that values hard work and intellectual curiosity.

Our research internship is a paid position of up to 40 hours a week at the Foundation’s office near the White House. Interns receive a competitive salary, unless the intern elects to receive academic credit in lieu of monetary compensation. To be eligible for an internship, the Foundation requires that you are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing research support to the Emerging Issues team by assembling background information for assigned research projects as well as aiding in writing, formatting and editing of assigned research projects, presentations and products;
  • Write blog posts for the website focusing on emerging issues and technologies affecting the business community;
  • Assisting Foundation staff with event preparation and operations including pre-event research and other event-related tasks as assigned;

Summer Internship with Communities in Schools

Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area is looking for a College of Charleston student (preferably majoring in Communication or Marketing) who is staying in Charleston for the summer (May-mid August) and interested in a non-profit internship opportunity.

Our team is looking for a goal-driven and detail-oriented individual who is interested in development, marketing, event planning and possibly some social media.

A little about us; we aid more than 8,000 at-risk students annually by surrounding them with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Currently, our Site Coordinators provide support services and case management to students in 15 Title I (high poverty) Charleston and Berkeley County schools (K-12). We host two fundraiser events throughout the year including the Push Up & Up Challenge (October) and The Chocolate Affair (February) which includes a live and silent auction.

The internship is unpaid, but it is a great team of people to work with. The intern is expected to have their own transportation, and be available 15-20 hours per week beginning in May.

The Graphic Design Intern will help engage US Club Soccer members and the public by designing creative graphics for digital and social media use. These efforts will align with and contribute to US Club Soccer’s communications and marketing initiatives. Public Relations Internship with Nestlé Purina

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation:

  • Help identify engaging stories and develop content to share for internal and external channels (where appropriate).
  • Develop content for internal platforms including our weekly newsletter, Workplace by Facebook groups and our employee advocacy tools, Purina Pack.
  • Develop artwork leveraging Photoshop to accompany content.

Event Management:

  • Assist the Corporate PR team with event planning and implementation, including logistics and vendor management for our various community, non-profit, and government affairs partners.
  • Provide on-site assistance where needed
  • Capture photos and develop stories recapping the event
