Job opening for soon-to-be CofC graduates in the Office of Admissions. Admissions is hiring three full-time Admissions Representatives to help us with recruitment next fall and spring. Communication majors are a great fit for the position.

Responsibilities include representing the College of Charleston both on and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Extensive travel planning and implantation of recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories is required. Some evening and weekend hours required, especially during the travel/yield season. Admissions recruitment, counseling, outreach, and application review are all significant functions of this position.

CopeGrand Homes is a custom home builder serving the Charleston Area’s mid and high end residential real estate market. The Design and Marketing Position will be responsible for assisting in the management and oversight of CopeGrand’s Brand Development. The role includes support in digital media design, website development and maintenance, social media management, CRM, and  event planning.

Summer Writing Internship Opportunity

SHEEN Magazine, a beauty, fashion, and entertainment publication in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, is looking for writer and interns for their web publication this summer.


They are currently looking for at least ten writers to intern this summer to write at three articles a week and submit content via web. Students can work from the comfort of their home or anywhere with an internet connection, assuring they meet their deadlines.

SHEEN is open to bringing on all levels of students, even recent graduates looking to add more to their repertoire. The Riley Institute at Furman University is hiring for a full time position as Events and Marketing Manager. The Riley Institute, affiliated with Furman’s Department of Politics and International Affairs, works with issues of public education and diversity throughout South Carolina and brings speakers and scholars to campus and the state to broaden student and the public’s perspectives on issues critical to the state’s progress. The position will entail managing and aiding in managing the professional production of Riley Institute events.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years relevant experience; preferred fields of study include but are not limited to English, political science, and sociology
  • Strong writer and editor, including for web, press releases, leave behinds, programs, and a variety of collateral materials
  • Experience with social media
  • Experience in event management and logistics
  • Ability to synthesize information around complex topics
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
