Seeks Marketing Intern

Title: Data Analysis Intern

Overview: Intern will be actively involved for 3-5 hours per week in the compilation and analysis of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra’s patron data in such a way that will lead to more effective marketing practices and demographic awareness within the organization. In addition to gathering this information, the intern will be responsible for organizing the information into concise, “skimmable” reports to be presented to the Executive Director, Marketing Director and Marketing Coordinator. He/she will also have the opportunity to sit in on and contribute to marketing meetings to as to better understand the strategy and decision making behind developing a robust patron base for a non-profit organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties include:
• Pull reports from Patron Manager database software to filter and customize based on given patron or single-ticket buyer variables
• Create comparison data tables between the Pops and Masterworks series so as to better demonstrate the demographic differences
• Conduct market research on geographic locations of patrons and/or donors with the intent of leading to advertising location priority suggestions
• Format data tables, analysis, reports, etc. in such a way that future interns or employees will be able to manipulate and/or understand the information

Desired Qualifications:
• Love of numbers, analysis, and the story that they tell.
• Currently holding the status of sophomore or junior at the College of Charleston
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a field related to data analysis, marketing, math, engineering, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Must have an affinity for database software and an eagerness to learn quickly
• Strong attention to detail and ability to create concise summaries of information
• Task-oriented and self-motivated

Additional Information:
This role will be located in our West Ashely office on Highway 61 near Home Team BBQ. This internship is unpaid, but successful performance will garner unique, useful work experience, as well as other perks.

Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced customer support and sales professional to manage our in-house wholesale accounts, provide exceptional customer service and support the daily operations of our U.S. based office and staff. This position is currently open and we are looking to fill it as soon as possible. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage current wholesale customer accounts including but not limited to: following up with current customers for reorders, keeping customer information up to date in our CRM database, collecting payment, providing excellent customer service through exceptional product knowledge.
• Manage independent sales reps
• Identify new showrooms and trade shows for our jewelry lines
• Represent Aid Through Trade at annual trade shows (we currently attend trade shows in NYC)
• Manage our annual Open House and Sample Sale in Annapolis
• Compose annual sales reports and present to team
• Responsible for identification of potential new wholesale customers, contacting them, sending sample mailings and following up to obtain orders.
Other Duties:
• General office support in any way needed that helps the office function optimally. This includes but is not limited to packing and unpacking for trade shows, checking in shipments, setting up trade show booths, admin support, answering phones and possibly coordinating trade shows.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and CRM software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Keep everyone on the team well informed of all critical developments
• Ability to stay organized and focused in a constantly changing entrepreneurial environment
• Innovative, creative problem solver, motivated and persistent
• Customer focused- able to create and maintain relationships over the phone with customers
• A true team player
• BA or BS in business, marketing, or similar degree preferred
• 2+ years of sales experience and customer support strongly preferred

US Club Soccer, a national soccer organization headquartered in downtown Charleston, is seeking a highly motivated intern to work in a communications-related capacity.
This person will gain valuable experience working in all facets of the communications department, while specializing in digital operations, including: content production, social media, graphic design, email communications, database management and sponsorship-related presentations.
The intern will be expected to work in the US Club Soccer operations office on a schedule to be determined by the Senior Manager of Communications. This position is a paid internship.

This internship is an opportunity for communication students who will be involved with press releases, media communications, public relations, messaging nonprofits in the tri-country area, and communicating with municipalities. The internship involves traditional communications such as print, radio, television but also incorporates digital media enabling interns to act creatively and to think outside the box.

  • The summer-only interns will focus on event planning, nonprofit research, and social campaigns, along with press releases, and business solicitation/ partnerships in the event (not sales at all, just participation).

Job opening for soon-to-be CofC graduates in the Office of Admissions. Admissions is hiring three full-time Admissions Representatives to help us with recruitment next fall and spring. Communication majors are a great fit for the position.

Responsibilities include representing the College of Charleston both on and off-campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. Extensive travel planning and implantation of recruitment activities for assigned high schools and territories is required. Some evening and weekend hours required, especially during the travel/yield season. Admissions recruitment, counseling, outreach, and application review are all significant functions of this position.
