MHP Salud is a national nonprofit organization that implements and runs Community Health Worker programs.

The Marketing and Community Management Specialist is responsible for spearheading and coordinating the development of the marketing and communication strategy of the organization including developing and designing content of marketing and communication materials, developing a social media campaign consistent with organizational strategic plan, and management of web page and web presence. This position will work directly under the supervision of the Chief Strategy and Analytics Officer (CSAO). Outlined below are the general responsibilities and functions related to the position.

  • Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure continued public awareness of brand
  • Plans, directs, coordinates, designs, and implements the organization’s online, print and promotional media presence

Successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field with at least two years’ professional marketing experience—master’s degree a plus
  • Excellent writing skills

  • Website administration experience a plus, WordPress experience preferred

Committed to Charleston (C2C) is now hiring an intern for the fall and spring semesters. See below for description and directions for applying.

Internship Description:

The Committed to Charleston (C2C) intern is responsible for managing the student philanthropy group, C2C, which is charged with building a culture of student philanthropy and working to gain campus support for the C2C program. The work of this internship will focus primarily on promoting a philanthropic culture in our student and young alumni community. Program goals include creating opportunities for students to understand the impact of philanthropy on their education, teaching students history of the College of Charleston, building positive traditions that increase campus pride, and develop student and future alumni leaders. The intern will report to the Assistant Director, Alumni & Campus Engagement within the Annual Giving Office. The intern will work in the Annual Giving Office located in Bellsouth, Room 204.

Job tasks and Qualifications:
  • Plan and implement a successful student giving campaign that solicits the entire student body
  • Recruit student leaders to join the student philanthropy efforts
  • Network with other student leaders to increase awareness of the student philanthropy program
  • Manage and provide support for the Committed to Charleston Executive Board
  • Educate students about the impact of philanthropy and raising funds for the College of Charleston
  • Help plan and execute C2C events
  • Conduct research including: 1) Best practice research from campuses who have implemented successful student giving programs 2) Survey students and conduct focus groups to determine philanthropic interests of students 3) Determine best methods of solicitation of students 4) Determine what traditions and rites of passage most resonate with students 5) Create an inventory of philanthropic efforts that have taken place on campus for students
  • Attend all C2C Executive Board meetings and General C2C Membership meetings—2 meetings per month
  • Qualified candidates must work effectively with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
  • The ideal candidate must maintain confidentiality with regard to student financial information, be dependable and display a professional demeanor with others, including alumni, students, staff and faculty
  • Prior fundraising experience a plus, but not required
  • Students with a high interest in nonprofit development/fundraising and events will be considered for the position
  • All applicants will be considered, but preference given to Juniors and Seniors
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Summary:

UniMedia is looking for candidates available for an internship starting immediately to assist our account teams in the development and execution of multi-platform integrated marketing and public relations programs. We are looking for an intern with a good work ethic, strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to work hard and have fun in a growing office.

South City PR, a Charleston-based PR firm with a focus on hospitality, is seeking a motivated intern. This internship is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about local, regional and national media campaigns. The Cougar Call Center is hiring student callers for the summer. Cougar Callers reach out to College of Charleston alumni and parents and ask for donations to support scholarships and areas of immediate need at the College of Charleston.

At this job, students can build professional skills, network with alumni all over the country, and enhance their resumé, all while giving back to the College.  Callers enjoy having flexible schedules with no weekend shifts, working conveniently on campus, and earning $9/hour.

While this is a summer position, opportunities may be available to continue for the fall semester.
