Minimum Requirements  Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years’ related experience in constituent relations, development, or alumni relations, with an emphasis on event planning and management. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  Must demonstrate competence with computer hardware and software applications such as Microsoft Office 2000 or higher, specifically MS Excel and Word (knowledge of MS Publisher a plus) Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and be professional and poised, particularly in settings with donors and event vendors. Events management to include knowledge of budgets and contracts. Familiarity with constituent databases a must, experience with Raiser’s Edge software a plus.
Additional Comments Regarding Position Will be required to work occasional nights and weekends.

Job Duties

Activity 1. Assist with facilitating campus-wide process for all donor relations and gift acceptance activities, to include letters of intent, gift agreements, endowment reports, donor reports, impact reports, donor stewardship and recognition, and engagement.

Activity 2. In coordination with Development office and schools/units, plans and implements special events that enhance overall Development efforts, including (but not limited to) Donor Society and individual recognition events, President’s Box during men’s basketball season, and President’s Party during Commencement. Oversee event components including forecasting and managing budgets, invitations, responses, audio/visual, rentals, catering, entertainment, and photography. Ensures compliance with standards of mode and frequency of follow up with participants.

Activity 3. Manages Raiser’s Edge database to ensure proper tracking and coding for all Development-related events, including event module as well as updating constituent data for stewardship actions, donor relations activities, etc.

Fort Sumter / Fort Moutrie Historical Trust is hiring a summer intern who has a marketing or communication major. The intern would work under the direction of our Trust Administrator, Carlin Timmons, and be paid by SpiritLine Crusies (a sister company to Fort Sumter Tours). The intern would work to build our relationship with area businesses and also help us achieve a stronger relationship with the (limited) donor list that we have presently.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must be able to receive college credit
  • NYC Interns preferred but can work remotely
  • 15-20 hours a week

CisternYard Media is now accepting applications for their General Manager of Public Relations position for the 2015-2016 academic school year. The Public Relations Manager is primarily responsible for the supervision of the public relations and marketing efforts for CisternYard Media. The manger is responsible for initiating, creating, and implementing campaigns that will effectively promote the network as a successful and trusted student organization on campus and within the community. MET Fund Application

BBDO would like to invite students from the College of Charleston to apply for the The Allen Rosenshine Minority Education & Training (MET) Fund. It awards internships to minorities, women and individuals protected under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act to encourage the pursuit of careers in advertising.  The program was launched in an effort to improve the level of diversity in the advertising industry.

BBDO will award several MET Fund internships for the summer of 2015 across our U.S. offices located in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Minneapolis, and San Francisco.  Interns receive a $4,000 stipend for the ten-week internship.  If you are selected as an intern, we will try to place you in the office of your choice, but this is not guaranteed.
