Internship at Leapfrog PR and Byrdhouse PR

Leapfrog PR is Leapfrog is a boutique public relations and marketing firm specializing in “lifestyle” related businesses – from specialty food products, dining and fashion to real estate and design. The internship would be for both Leapfrog PR and Byrdhouse PR, as we share an office space. Byrdhouse is more hospitality oriented with clients ranging from local hotels to restaurants.

 

Daily Duties:

Internet research

Drafting Press Releases and materials for Press Kits

Deliveries for clients

Necessary errands for clients

Drafting bios for clients

Editing or Creating Event Invites/information

Updating Social Media

Answering incoming phone calls

Helping to coordinate events

Researching venues

Picking up mail from the PO box/sending mail

Editing or organizing Excel documents

Picking up local and national magazines to look for client features

Researching competitors of clients

Keeping up with local events

Qualifications:

Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel

Must have a mode of transportation

Must be flexible with working/ attending events after office hours

Must be comfortable making business calls while in the office

The internship is unpaid with a small stipend at the end, and will run either MW from 10 am to 4 pm & Friday 10 am to noon or TTH 10 am to 4 pm

A day in the Office:

Dress is business casual

Bring a lunch or you will be able to pick something up

You will be reimbursed for all gas mileage used

You get to work with three amazing women and learn all you can about PR at the same time!

Learning Objectives:

Refine writing skills by learning how to draft a professional and interesting press release

Enhance researching ability by learning how to pitch a compelling story for a national publication

Develop creative ability and graphic design skills by learning how to draft a an eye catching press kit

Various uses of the press kit and documents enclosed

What we are looking for:

A college student interested in giving their time and learning about PR for a nonprofit.

Someone who has a flexible schedule and can work alone or with a small team

A strong knowledge of and affinity for social media

creative and innovative ideas to reach the diverse populations of donors, clients and volunteers we work with.

Someone who can take ownership of projects

 

Qualifications:

some previous experience would be ideal

very comfortable with online marketing and social media tools

some previous experience planning and managing social/donation/charity events.

 

Learning objective:

They will know how to link ad campaigns across multiple media platforms.

They will know how to reach out and work with community partners

They will increase their knowledge and ability to manage a major charity event

Position:  Development, Stewardship and Donor Relations Intern

Supervisor:  Emily Padgett

Scholarship Program Coordinator

 

Term of position:  One semester, 10-15 hours per week

Benefits:  This internship will provide excellent preparation for entry level positions in any Fundraising, Stewardship/Donor Relations position. The intern will have the opportunity to have hands on experience with donor communications and relations, website, social media, donor functions, event planning, and video editing.

Job tasks and responsibilities may include any and/or all of the following:

  • Assist members of the Stewardship Donor Relations Team as needed
  • Create Videos, edit for distribution and maintain library of videos for campaign use
  • Compile donor biographies
  • Create innovative and engaging social media campaigns and posts for Facebook
  • Assist in the Acknowledgement letter process
  • Assist in donor events

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher.
  • Basic knowledge of Raisers Edge and Adobe Photoshop is a plus
  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Have an interest in learning about Stewardship and Donor Relations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to donor and recipient information
  • Be detail oriented, flexible and able to accept direction and constructive criticism
  • Be dependable and have a professional demeanor
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and climb two flights of stairs
  • Video editing skills a plus

Position

Lucid is looking for a highly motivated Program Coordinator to join our team. The Program Coordinator will work closely with Lucid’s Director of Product Engagement to envision, plan, and implement marketing and engagement programs, such as Campus Conservation Nationals (www.competetoreduce.org) for colleges and universities. The Program Coordinator must be a multi-talented individual who has a diverse and polished arsenal of skills at his/her disposal, and is excited to jump into a role that involves planning, creating, writing, organizing, and problem-solving, among other responsibilities.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

·  Strategize & plan – Assist with program strategizing and planning. Participate in weekly planning and strategy calls with program partners.

·  Manage – Own responsibility for pieces of each program, from planning through execution and evaluation. For example, you might own software set-up, recruiting emails, website maintenance & content, program registration, or other areas.

·  Write – Write and update persuasive, clear, and engaging content for delivery via all sorts of channels, from emails to website to guides to conference session abstracts to press releases. Most of the content you’ll write will be aimed either at recruiting prospective participants, or supporting and training enrolled participants. You’ll also do some informal writing responding to emails from program participants.

·  Communicate – Speak in program recruiting and training webinars and videos, place check-in calls to program participants, and assist participants in solving problems over the phone.

·  Design – You’ll be putting your design sense and sharp eye to work creating concepts for graphics to accompany your emails and presentations, putting together beautiful slide decks for webinars and conferences, laying out emails in our marketing automation system (Pardot), and updating program websites (hosted on Squarespace).

·  Problem solve – Be a proactive problem solver on many fronts, from helping participants resolve issues they encounter while using BuildingOS and Building Dashboard, to finding solutions for unexpected software glitches.

·  Analyze – Do spot checks of data submitted by organizations/buildings with particularly high/low performance.

·  Research – Become and stay fluent in best practices for running energy and water reduction competitions. Read academic research, review websites and social media, converse with participants, and read news articles to identify best practices and novel ideas for energy and water reduction competitions, and then incorporate these into program materials.

 

Required Qualifications

·  BA/BS or equivalent experience

·  Dependable, proactive and very organized

·  A diligent self-starter that works well with little supervision

·  Excellent writing skills (please include a writing sample with your application)

·  Excellent verbal communication skills

·  Good design sense and basic image editing skills

·  Ability to quickly learn new concepts and capacity for self-teaching

·  Ability to type with minimum speed of 60 words per minute as measured by 10fastfingers.com

 

The ideal candidate will have

·  2 to 5 years experience in program or project management

·  Experience implementing social marketing / behavior change programs

·  Experience with Mailchimp, Pardot, Marketo, or similar marketing automation tool

·  Experience with Salesforce

·  Experience with Apple Keynote
