Responsibilities:
A Harbor Accelerator Intern in the area of Marketing/Communications would carry out a variety of activities in the effort to increase public awareness of the organization as well as community involvement. Activities may include: Publicize happenings and collect followers through Social Media Manage Contacts Update website Create content for email newsletters

As an intern for The Harbor Accelerator, in Mt. Pleasant, SC, you get to experience the fast-paced growth of our non-profit and young start-up businesses. Starting in June, you will work closely with start-up entrepreneurs as well as seasoned executives in multiple industry leaders, and receive a well-rounded business experience to bring into potentially any job you may receive post-internship. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience related to the development, production and dissemination of print informational material. Significant editorial, copywriting and production experience in print and electronic publications, as well as knowledge of all phases of the creative process. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of marketing techniques and strategies, and ability to develop, manage and execute ideas and modern marketing themes and strategies from concept to completion. Ability to apply market research and mixed media concepts to comprehensive and complex marketing and communications projects. Demonstrated ability to plan, write and edit marketing communications copy and manage multiple marketing and communications tasks from creative concepting through production. Experience with multimedia marketing techniques. Ability to work well with others in a team environment and under deadline pressure. Must have strong initiative and ability to work independently without close supervision. Proficiency in McIntosh software, including word processing and graphics software, electronic marketing techniques and streaming video. Knowledge of and experience using new media to achieve marketing and communications goals. Ability to write clearly, concisely and on a deadline.

Additional Comments Regarding Position

The Job Description:

The Global Creative Initiatives Manager is responsible for developing and managing creative resources that maintain Ketchum’s position as an industry leader in creativity and innovation. The position includes, but is not limited to:
