National AmeriCorps Week – Have You Served?
In honor of National AmeriCorps Week (March 10-18) a small committee of us on campus would like to recognize those students, faculty, staff and alumni who have, or are currently serving, in the AmeriCorps national service program, whether it was in NCCC, VISTA or State/National.
We are hoping to compile a list of all those on campus and our alumni who have given their time to AmeriCorps, and during the week send out an email to let the campus know who has helped give back to their local communities and served their country through this program.
If you have served, and would like to have your name included in the list, please email Eric Anderson in the Career Center at careercenter@cofc.edu with the following information:
• Your Name
• Name of AmeriCorps Program
• Location of Program
• Year(s) of Service
• *If you would like to include your major/minor or graduation year you are more than welcome to (but not required)
We appreciate your consideration of this request and want to thank all of those on campus who have served in AmeriCorps. During the week we will also be having an AmeriCorps Information Table in Cougar Plaza on Wednesday, March 14th from 11:00am-1:00pm as well as an AmeriCorps Panel Discussion on Thursday, March 15th from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the Rivers Dorm Hawkins Living & Learning Center.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Eric Anderson, Career Center (AmeriCorps Alum)
Andrea DeSantis, Honors College (CofC Alum and current AmeriCorps VISTA)
Laura Mewbourn, Center for Civic Engagement (AmeriCorps VISTA)
