The Chattooga River is  one of the outdoor jewels in the state of South Carolina and you will get the chance to explore this rugged, secluded area just a few hours from Charleston. Protected by the 1974 Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, come find out for yourself what is so special about this wilderness area.

No previous paddling skill is required to enjoy this activity.  View the video to see what excitement lies ahead.

2015 Chattooga River Raft Trip
Trip Dates March 27-29, 2015.

Destination Wildwater Chattooga Ridge Adventure Center, 1251 Academy Rd., Long Creek, SC  29658.

GPS Coordinates: 34 47’ 36 N,  83 14’ 47 W
Itinerary Friday: check-in.  Dinner is served between 6 and 7 p.m.
Saturday: breakfast followed by the main event, rafting down section III of the Chattoga River.  Lunch is served on the river.  The dinner meal is served back at the campground.
Sunday: check-out before 10:30 a.m.  Participants may stay and hike area trails or for those interested a zipline tour is available for an additional fee of $59.00.
Activity Option Those preferring not to raft on Saturday may elect instead to take a 1/2 day zipline tour.
Accommodations 2-night stay in the Chattooga group yurts.  The yurts offer bunk-style lodging for as many as 10 persons and includes an outside deck.  Participants are responsible for their own bedding and/or sleeping bag.  The commons building has private bathrooms, a kitchen, and dining hall.
Fee $155 covers all rafting equipment including a raft guide, group lodging, and 5 hearty meals.  Transportation is not provided and remains the responsibility of the individual.
Registration Deadline February 27.  Register early.  Don’t let a great program get cancelled.

Wait List Should the trip max out before you call, ask to be placed on the wait list.
Max/min enrollment 30 persons is the maximum that can attend.  4 is the minimum to run the trip.
Assumption of Risk This trip is not run by Campus Recreation Services and is not a sponsored trip of the College of Charleston.
Participants assume all risks associated with travel and participation in this activity.
