Head of the Charles Regatta Results

Alumni, Rowers, and Friends,
This past weekend (Oct.17-20), rowers from the College of Charleston rowed at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston / Cambridge, the largest rowing event in the world.

Charleston sent a Women’s 8+ and Men’s 4+ this year. Our best highlight coming from the Varsity Men’s 4+ of Vincent Oliver ’14, Luke Rein ’15, Sterling Lombard ’16, and Tyler Dolberg ’16 who were steered by Freshman recruit Paige Padilla ’17. Paige did an excellent job navigating the winding historic course passing several boats on their way to the finish. In the end, Charleston would finish in front of 27 boats including entries from Harvard, MIT, UMass, Colgate, and Brandeis.

The Head of the Charles has become one of the great Fall traditions of Charleston Crew. Some of you may recall last year when our Lightweight Men had similar success placing 14th ahead of the likes of Navy, Georgetown, and Fordham, to name a few.

A special thanks to Gene Sessoms for his continued support and guidance. Also thanks to Misha Joukowsky and Casey Baker and their team at Resolute Racing for all of the practice and race day support.

I hope to see you all on the water very soon.

Cheers,

Travis Landrith ’98
